As we celebrate Joyce Carol’s birthday today (my wife of 43 years), we’re trying to get our heads wrapped around the fact that cannabis is now legal in all 50 states. Never thought I’d live long enough to see it.
Of course, the cannabis in this case is commonly called hemp and doesn’t get you high. But it does provide all sorts of useful things like fiber and oil and seeds and CBD, the latter being a useful compound that we’re just now beginning to understand.
This week President Trump signed into law a bill that makes hemp legal at the federal level. That is one huge leap forward and one step closer to making all cannabis legal everywhere. I’m excited to see what happens next.
For My Beloved, cannabis has become something we never expected. It sustains her, it literally saved her life, it helps me in a number of ways, and it has become a huge part of our lives. Watching all this happen has been an amazing thing.
If you are among those who still believe this plant is evil or somehow something that needs to be eradicated, ask me about Joyce Carol’s story. I’d be happy to share our experiences. It’s a story that could just change your opinion.
